Featured guests include paranormal investigators\, podcasters\, and artists who delve into folklore\, ghosts\, and local legends. Don’t miss this unique opportunity! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n11am-3pm Meet Cryptid & Paranormal Vendors\, Authors & Experts – at Decades \n\n\n\nVisit Decades to meet with a variety of cryptid and paranormal authors and experts\, and shop cryptid\, spooky\, and fun gifts\, books\, art\, and more! \n\n\n\nVisit the Facebook event here and explore the lineup below. \n\n\n\nDaryl Marston \n\n\n\nA paranormal investigator and TV personality known for featuring on A&E’s Ghost Hunters. Combining curiosity\, skepticism\, and respect\, he documents evidence and searches for answers in haunted locations across the country. Beyond investigation\, he is developing American Lore\, an unscripted true-crime series exploring paranormal elements\, forgotten histories\, and mysterious cases. \n\n\n\nChristopher Feinstein  \n\n\n\nThe creator and host of Haunted American History\, a Bloody Disgusting podcast launched in 2020 that explores the ghosts\, folklore\, cryptids\, and obscure legends hiding in America’s past. A writer\, filmmaker\, and author of The Forgotten Borough\, Chris examines the intersection of horror\, history\, and folklore to understand how local legends evolve and shape community identity. \n\n\n\nJeanne Moran  \n\n\n\nJeanne Moran writes about cryptids and monsters\, some mythical and others historically true. She is the author of four books: Mikey and the Swamp Monster (picture book for ages 3-7\,) Someone for Sasquatch (fantasy for ages 8-12\,) and the WWII duo Risking Exposure and The Path Divided (historical fiction for ages 12 to adult.) Some of Jeanne’s cryptids have jumped right off the page and into her yarn basket\, so she crochets them into soft critters to snuggle beside her readers. \n\n\n\nSwartz Paranormal Investigators  \n\n\n\nSwartz Paranormal Investigations is a professional investigative team dedicated to exploring\, documenting\, and understanding unexplained phenomena. A love for dress up and fantasy led her to renaissance faires and social media cosplay communities with her husband\, Peter\, at her side. Janine purchased her first mermaid tail in 2022\, just for the fun of it\, not knowing where it would lead. One tail turned to two then three\, all in pursuit of that dream tail. The perfect fit like Cinderella’s slipper… or flipper. In a world of sparkly\, beautiful\, glamorous mermaids\, Janine searched for a mersona (mermaid persona) that felt authentic to her. Then a post laying out the difference between mermaids and selkies came across her social media feed and the answer became clear. Selkies are shifters\, seals in the water until they shed their pelts and walk on land as humans. They have a vulnerability to them\, a deep longing beneath that mirthful spirit. As a lover of Celtic culture\, this was the perfect lore to shape Janine’s next character: Lyra the Selkie. Come find her beautiful creations (including fairy doors\, hair accessories\, and jewelry) and meet her! \n\n\n\nSlice of the Paranormal Podcast \n\n\n\nMeet the team behind the Slice Of The Paranormal\, a podcast that explores the unexplained\, uncovers bizarre history\, and reviews the best pizza spots in every eerie location they investigate! \n\n\n\nCryptid Club \n\n\n\nIsabel (Cryptid Club) is a Lancaster based graphic designer\, artist\, and monster fan. She started selling cryptid themed goods on her Etsy shop in 2014\, and has continued to make goods inspired by them\, as well as various horror films. A fan of mid-century graphic design\, she incorporates a colorful and vintage feeling into her work. Cryptid Club offers stickers\, bumper stickers\, buttons\, risograph prints\, enamel pins\, postcards\, screen printed goods\, and much more! \n\n\n\nPop-Up Pocket Books Shop \n\n\n\nShop a pop-up book shop with our friends at Pocket Books! Pocket Books curates an intentional\, eclectic selection of books designed to create a safe space for readers to explore new ideas and interests. \n\n\n\nGeorgiana Staley \n\n\n\nGeorgiana will work with you to match you with the cryptid that bests matches your persona! DESCRIPTION:📅 Saturday\, November 14\, 2026⏰ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm📍 Meet at Muddy Run Park\, 172 Bethesda Church Road W\, Holtwood\, PA 17532 \n\n\n\n \n \n \n November 14: Muddy Run History & Hydropower Hike Ticket\n \n $20.00 – $39.99Price range: $20.00 through $39.99\n \n Select options\n \n\n\nClick here to reserve your spot for the November 14 Muddy Run History & Hydropower Hike \n\n\n\nDiscover the surprising story behind one of Lancaster County’s most fascinating engineering landmarks while enjoying a late-autumn hike around the scenic Muddy Run Reservoir. \n\n\n\nJoin local educator Chris Rachor on Saturday\, November 14\, 2026\, for a guided exploration of the Lakeshore Trail at Muddy Run Park. Along the approximately four-mile route\, Chris will explain the history of Muddy Run\, how pumped-storage hydroelectric generation works\, and the important role the facility has played in supplying electricity to the regional power grid for more than half a century. \n\n\n\n📸: Constellation Energy\n\n\n\nWhen commercial operations began in 1966\, the Muddy Run Pumped Storage Facility was the largest pumped-storage hydroelectric power plant in the world. Today\, its eight generating units can produce up to 1\,070 megawatts of electricity during periods of peak demand. \n\n\n\nBut how does a pumped-storage facility actually work? Where does all that water go? Why is electricity used to pump water uphill at night\, only to release it again later? \n\n\n\nChris will answer these questions and share stories about the facility\, the surrounding property\, and the history of this corner of southern Lancaster County. \n\n\n\n📸: Lori R\n\n\n\nThe hike will follow the Lakeshore Trail around much of Muddy Run Park’s 100-acre lake. Along the way\, participants will encounter wooded shoreline\, open grassy areas\, waterfowl\, lake views\, and plenty of moss-covered rocks. The park encompasses approximately 700 acres of woodlands and rolling fields\, providing a beautiful setting in which to enjoy the outdoors while learning about the remarkable facility hidden within the surrounding landscape. \n\n\n\nYour Guide\n\n\n\nChris Rachor is a lifelong Lancaster County resident\, Penn Manor High School graduate\, and avid hiker. He is an operations instructor at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station\, an adjunct professor at Millersville University\, and a longtime teacher at Solanco High School. Altogether\, he brings nearly 20 years of professional and educational experience to the hike. \n\n\n\nChris’s technical knowledge\, teaching experience\, interest in local history\, and familiarity with the Muddy Run area make him uniquely qualified to explain the science\, engineering\, and history behind one of Lancaster County’s most impressive but often misunderstood landmarks. \n\n\n\nChris is leading this hike independently and not as a representative of Constellation Energy. This Uncharted Lancaster event is not sponsored\, organized\, or endorsed by Constellation Energy. \n\n\n\nHike Details\n\n\n\nDate: Saturday\, November 14\, 2026Time: 9 a.m.Location: Muddy Run ParkStreet Address: 172 Bethesda Church Road W\, Holtwood\, PA 17532Meet at: The upper snack bar parking lot above the boat launch. Portions of the Lakeshore Trail are rocky\, uneven\, and close to the water\, creating several places where participants could slip or stumble. Attendees should be comfortable walking approximately four miles over rugged natural terrain. \n\n\n\nSturdy hiking shoes with good traction are strongly recommended. Participants should dress appropriately for November weather and bring water and any snacks they may need during the hike. \n\n\n\nThis hike is perfect for anyone interested in Lancaster County history\, local industry\, engineering\, energy production\, or spending a late-autumn morning exploring one of the county’s most beautiful recreational areas. \n\n\n\nCome discover how water\, gravity\, electricity\, and more than 50 years of Lancaster County history come together at Muddy Run. \n\n\n\n📸: Rachael Leonard
