🐟"Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water!"🎣 On Friday, September 22, Angel Arroyo hauled this 42-pound, 44-inch beast out of the Susquehanna from the fishing pier at Safe Harbor Dam.

Fall has arrived! A millennium ago, a group of Native Americans known as the Shenks Ferry People would have gathered on Little Indian Rock to mark the start of a new season as they viewed the equinox sunrise. Experimental archaeology suggests it takes about 20 minutes to make a dime-sized impress in the hard schist using a round hammerstone and quartz chisel. A carving of this size likely took several days to complete.

Peoples piloted the Lady Gay and her sister ships, Evelyn B. and Emma Bell, up and down the Conestoga River from Bridgeport to Rocky Springs, which included his own Peoples’ Bathing Resort during the 1890s and early 1900s. Both spots were great local swimming and recreation destinations.
