Bien and copyrighted in 1899 by Julius Bien & Company of New York City.

Joseph R. Bien (1826–1909) was a celebrated American lithographer known for his precision and artistry. He was also commissioned to produce the rare lithographic edition of John James Audubon’s The Birds of America—a testament to his craftsmanship and eye for detail.
