April 18: Mysterious Petroglyphs of Safe Harbor Presentation

UPDATE: Unless you have already registered, this free event is now “sold” out. Keep you eye out for future presentations.

Join me at the Milanof-Schock Public Library in Mount Joy at 1184 Anderson Ferry Road for an exciting double-header event on Monday, April 18, 2022, beginning at 6 pm.

The Mysterious Petroglyphs of Safe Harbor Presentation

At 6 pm, I will be recounting my expeditions down the Lower Susquehanna to explore the mysterious Native American petroglyphs hidden on the ancient river at Safe Harbor. These 1,000 years old rock carvings represent the oldest man-made artifacts in Lancaster County and one of the most significant archeological sites in the northeastern United States. I will discuss their significance, possible meanings, and some local legends surrounding the pictographs.

This in-person program is free and open, but registration is required. Perfect for adults and older children who love to explore or enjoy local history. Make sure to register through the library’s website calendar or call them at 717.653.1510.

I will have free Uncharted Lancaster stickers and magnets for those in attendance, plus replica arrowheads for the kids. I hope to see you there.

Milanof-Schock Library’s Book of Secrets Adventure

I will also be officially introducing my newest Uncharted Lancaster adventure that will have you exploring Mount Joy, Marietta, and Maytown as you attempt to unlock the hidden resting place of the Book of Secrets hidden at the Milanof-Schock Library.

Can you find Milanof-Schock Library’s Book of Secrets?

Fantastic prizes are up for grabs for early completers, including metal replica Spanish Doubloons. The Milanof-Schock Library is also offering a grand prize for one lucky explorer who completes the adventure and finds a treasure. That winner will be selected at random for all completers on Tuesday, September 6.

This adventure is free and available to the public during the library’s business hours.

The Milanof-Schock Library’s Book of Secrets Adventure begins the following day on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 10 am, but you can get a jump start on Part 1 now! Click here for full details on how to get started.
