Join me with fellow history lovers for an outdoor evening of food and friendship at Sickman’s Mill with LancasterHistory for their annual Summertime Picnic on Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm.
Cocktails begin at 5:30 pm, followed by 6:30 pm remarks by Dr. Tom Ryan, President & CEO, and dinner featuring grain processed by the historic mill. The Summertime Picnic benefits the education and public history programs of LancasterHistory.
Throughout the evening, I will be giving tours of the historic 1862 4.5-story stone structure that is rumored to be haunted. Live music will also be provided by Dillweed. In addition, a live auction will take place to raise additional funds for LancasterHistory, featuring fun, history-themed baskets and one-of-a-kind experiences!
You must RSVP by June 1, 2023, online or by completing and mailing (with payment) the Response Card to LancasterHistory. Reservations are held upon receipt of payment. Attendees with any dietary restrictions or food allergies should contact Annie Weeks at (717) 392-4633, ext. 134, or email Annie Weeks as soon as possible so alternative accommodations can be made.
Not sure what to wear? Consider casual, picnic-style clothing to be comfortable outdoors. I’ll be there with my trademark fedora. 🤠
LancasterHistory is also offering a complimentary shuttle to and from the event. The shuttle will leave from LancasterHistory (230 N. President Avenue) at 5 pm and will return at 8:30 pm. Please RSVP for the shuttle at the time of purchasing tickets. Self-parking is also available at Historic Sickman’s Mill.
