November 17: Mysterious Petroglyphs of Safe Harbor Presentation

Join me at the Quarryville Library Center at 357 Buck Road in the C. X. Carlson Cultural Room for my Friday, November 17, 2023, at 6 p.m. Mysterious Petroglyphs of Safe Harbor presentation.

Click here to register for this free event.

I will be recounting my expeditions down the Lower Susquehanna to explore the mysterious Native American petroglyphs hidden on the ancient river at Safe Harbor. These 1,000-year-old rock carvings represent the oldest human-made artifacts in Lancaster County and one of the most significant archeological sites in the northeastern United States. I will discuss their significance, possible meanings, and some local legends surrounding the pictographs.

This in-person program is free and open, but registration is required. Perfect for adults and older children who love to explore or enjoy local history. Walk-ins will be accommodated as space permits. Please register every person in your group. Please register through the library’s website calendar or call them at  717.786.1336. Click here to register.

I will have free Uncharted Lancaster stickers, magnets for those in attendance, and replica arrowheads for the kids. I hope to see you there.
