Answer to the November Mystery Tool Revealed!

Jennifer Royer, museum curator at Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum, says this is a washer and gasket cutter designed to cut washers and gaskets from leather, rubber, cork, graphite, fiber, copper, and other soft materials. The combination round and square shank permits use with a bit brace or hand drill. The cutter features two adjustable blades for making inner and outer diameter cuts.  Henry Landis purchased this on December 21, 1935, from Reed’s Hardware Store for 35 cents.

An antique tool with a wooden handle and metal components, possibly used for multiple purposes, displayed next to a measurement scale.
