Answer to the March Mystery Tool Revealed!
Jennifer Royer, museum curator at Landis Valley Village and Farm Museum, says this is a leather draw gauge, 5.75โ long, with a brass-and-wood handle and a 5.5โ sliding iron measuring bar, used to cut strips of leather.ย In 0.0625โ- high, bold letters, the word โI. ADAMSโ is engraved, and underneath, in non-bold letters, โPHILADAโ.
