If the summer heat has you down and you need to cool off, look no further than Wind Cave. It’s the largest tectonic cave in Pennsylvania. Not to mention there’s some buried treasure nearby that you can recover. Click here for more information on accessing the cave and its treasure.

Crick Stompin’
Of course, if exploring 2,000 feet of tomb-like darkness isn’t your thing, you could always creek stomp while exploring this culvert near the parking area to the cave. This unnamed (as far as I know) Susquehanna River tributary is just a couple of feet off of the Conestoga Trail. The culvert supports Bridge Valley Road as it leaves Pequea.

Finding the Cool Off Culvert
To locate the culvert, find a parking spot near the corner of Bridge Valley Road and Ridge Drive. Click here for directions. Just keep an eye out for no parking signs being sure to respect other people’s property and driveways.
