Overview
Celebrate the Conestoga Area Historical Society‘s opening weekend for the 2022 season with a brand new Uncharted Lancaster mini-adventure. Conestoga Wagon wooden nickels and replica arrowheads are up for grabs as you search the museum for answers.
Other activities include an Easter egg hunt (not connected to my $1,500 Easter Egg Treasure Hunt) for children eight and under plus egg painting for all ages. In addition to the museum grounds being open, 39 craft vendors and three food trucks will be in attendance. Don’t miss this fun event! The Conestoga Area Historical Society is located at 51 Kendig Rd, Conestoga, PA 17516. The event runs from 10 am to 4 pm with a rain date of Sunday, April 24.
The Conestoga Area Historical Society Museum Search Adventure

Pequea Trolley
Beginning in the late 1800s, a system of trolleys ran all over Lancaster County. One line went from Millersville to Pequea. Safe Harbor Iron Works
In 1846, Reeves Abbot & Company from Philadelphia selected the Safe Harbor area to build the Safe Harbor Iron Work to manufacture railroad rails. This location was ideal for two reasons. First was the discovery of vast amounts of iron ore in the immediate vicinity. The second was the easy access to canals on both the Susquehanna and Conestoga Rivers. Click here to learn more.
